About the Role
Join us as a Senior Snowflake Engineer and play a key role in implementing our new Snowflake Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). In this position, you will be responsible for developing data pipelines, managing infrastructure, and ensuring the stability and scalability of our evolving data environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in both establishing the foundations necessary for the success of our major transformation project and delivering new models as the university implements a new ERP (Workday) and Research Management Systems. 

Your responsibilities will include: 


  • Snowflake data warehouse administrator, ensuring performance and troubleshooting issues 
  • Develop and maintain DBT models and data pipelines for data loading and transformation in Snowflake, focusing on data quality and consistency 
  • Collaborate on DataOps processes to enhance data pipeline management and ensure adherence to principles 
  • Champion CI/CD practices within the team to enhance efficiency and reliability 
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions aligning with business needs 

Who we are looking for
You will have strong communication skills for maintaining stakeholder relationships and sharing complex information effectively. Experience with DevOps tools and understanding of IT security and governance are essential. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, understanding of data management concepts, and experience in diverse development teams are also important. Expertise in Snowflake is required.  

You will also have: 


  • A Bachelor/Master’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant field 
  • 4+ years of experience working with Snowflake, including data modelling, performance tuning, and administration 
  • Experience with DBT and building data pipelines for data transformation and loading 
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational database concepts
