About the Role:

This position reports to the Manager, Admissions, Pathways and Credits, and offers the chance to influence the admissions process, serving future students and stakeholders. It's an opportunity to utilise organisational and communication skills while fostering professional growth in a dynamic university setting.

Responsible for timely selection decisions using VTAC and direct applications, ensuring adherence to deadlines. Monitor and facilitate progression pathways, issue enrolment advice, and manage advanced standing. Support the Manager, Admissions, Pathways and Credits in planning and executing admissions processes for efficient operations and top-tier service. Provide expert advice, liaise across units, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a full-time ongoing position at a HEP 6 Classification Level, Salary range $85,667 per annum - $92,728 per annum, plus 17% Superannuation, working 36.75 hours per week. 

About You:

  • Requires dual sector experience and understanding of Vocational and Higher Education.
  • Knowledge and understanding of policies, regulations and procedures of relevant University and government departments relating to Admissions, Credit, Advanced Standing, and Pathways.
  • Should exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to provide accurate advice and liaise effectively with various stakeholders
  • Adaptability, a proactive attitude towards problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement would be highly valued traits in this position.

Duties:

An example of your responsibilities or duties you may perform will include:

  • Responsible for assessing and making selection decisions using the VTAC system and the assessment of direct applications, ensuring timelines for selection are met. 
  • Identify and monitor pathway cohorts, establish eligibility to progress, ensure the timely issue of enrolment advice and recording of associated advanced standing.
  • Provide expert factual and accurate advice for a range of admission activities and projects as required
  • Support the Manager, Admissions, Pathways and Credits in the review, planning and implementation of all Admissions- related processes and activities to ensure efficient operations and a high level of service to future students and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise effectively and at a high level with organisation units and staff beyond the Admissions, Pathways & Credits Unit to gather and prepare information for dissemination to the University community about Admissions, VTAC and Direct Applications to ensure clear, current and timely information is available to future students and to other areas of the University.
