SENIOR RESEARCH OFFICER – Advocacy & Policy
The Curtin University and WA Country Health Services (WACHS) Alliance (the[SR1] Alliance) is looking to recruit a Senior Research Officer to support with research and administrative duties. The Alliance is leading research innovation and workforce development that supports and nurtures healthy communities across WA Country Health Services. The Alliance integrates new and innovative research and education into the health services in rural and remote regions through collaboration between key institutions. This newly created role will support the Alliance Director to deliver on agreed research and educational objectives.
In this role you will….
- Play a key supporting role in the management of research, innovation and workforce development projects in consultation with Project Lead/s.
- Manage project activities, implement project deliverables and liaise with project stakeholders to facilitate project outcomes.
- Actively participate in research in accordance with the skills required of the position.
- Collate, synthesise, critically review and summarise information from literature searches.
- Draft and prepare progress reports and papers for publication, including as a co-author.
- Analyse complex data sets, interpret experimental results, and report on findings.
- Contribute to and participate in the presentation of research and project findings to seminars and conferences as required.
- Comply with national and state legislation and regulations relevant to the research areas activities and University requirements.
- As a member of the University community, demonstrate the highest possible standards of professional and personal conduct, modelling the University’s Values and Signature Behaviours
- Continue to support report writing for existing contracts, developing and maintaining external stakeholder relationships and undertake research.
- Provide high level research and administrative support to the Academic Project Lead across a range of functions associated with the successful execution of the research Alliance projects.
- Manage project activities and implementing project deliverables, managing data and contributing to research reports, publications and conference presentations
- Collate, synthesise, critically review and summarise information from literature searches.
- Draft and prepare progress reports and papers for publication, including as a co-author.
- Coordinate research project proposal development and contribute to applications for research funding.
- Contribute secretariat support towards the Alliance governance and activities.
- High level of discipline specific knowledge and considerable experience in relevant scientific/research methods, techniques and protocols.
- Organisational skills with the ability to successfully manage project activities to achieve desired outcomes.
- High-level problem solving and analytical skills, including with the ability to analyse experimental/research results and report on findings.
- Well-developed level interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- High level written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex material in clear and concise language and contribute to research reports and publications.
- Competence in the use of computer applications and relevant
This position requires you to work at a facility that is governed by the West Australian Government’s Directions for COVID-19 vaccinations. You must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a recognised exemption to be eligible for this role. Accordingly, you will need to provide evidence of your vaccination status or exemption to satisfy the selection criteria and continue through the recruitment process.
