About This Opportunity

The Senior Research Integrity Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the responsible conduct of research at UQ.

You will primarily be responsible for providing guidance, support and advice to research stakeholders, and managing the investigation of complaints or concerns about the conduct of research.

You will also play a part in enhancing awareness around the importance of research integrity and ethical practice through the delivery of training programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the investigation of complaints about research conduct in accordance with University policies and relevant agreements, codes and regulations.

  • Provide advice and support to researchers and senior University personnel about research integrity frameworks and processes.

  • Develop, deliver and facilitate training for researchers, Higher Degree by Research candidates and professional staff to enhance their awareness of, and compliance with the University’s research integrity policies.

  • Review and develop resources, including web-based materials, to assist the UQ research community in understanding and meeting their obligations.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $106,838.31 - $119,780.70, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $125,000.82 - $140,143.42 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.


About You  

  • Postgraduate research qualification and extensive relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Proven high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to engage with diverse groups within and external to the organisation.

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing accurate, comprehensive written reports with excellent attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret policies, procedures and guidelines in order to provide clear and consistent advice and support to staff and students.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, establish priorities, organise tasks, meet deadlines and work independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to professionally handle sensitive and confidential information and use appropriate judgment and discretion.

  • Ability to develop and deliver training activities to diverse audiences.

  • Detailed understanding, or a proven ability to rapidly obtain such an understanding, of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and other relevant codes, statements and guidelines.
