About the Role
This role significantly contributes to high-quality research, focusing on physiotherapy and Cerebral Palsy management. Engaging with key stakeholders, including the Gait Analysis Laboratory and Orthopaedic Department at the Royal Children’s Hospital, the role involves research leadership, training, and supervision, with potential contributions to the Doctor of Medicine program and innovative tool development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in research independently and as a member of a research team
  • Take the lead in seeking and securing competitive national research grants and collaborations for the Gait Lab team.
  • Play a significant role in the leadership of research projects and leadership of the research team.
  • Produce quality conference and seminar papers and publications.

Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, excels at building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and works collaboratively. They are an ethical scholar who values diversity, embraces individual differences, and drives innovation with openness to new perspectives.

You will also have:

  • Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery or Doctor of Medicine or equivalent.
  • PhD or Doctor of Medical Science.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency or eligible for registration with AHPRA.
  • Skills in research and project coordination.
  • Evidence of significant contribution to independent and team-based research ideally in relation to neuromuscular disorders, cerebral palsy or clinical gait analysis, but may include other related fields.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
