About This Opportunity  

The Senior Officer, International Admissions is based within International Admissions, Future Students and has expertise in assessing complex applications from international students across key geographical regions. This position reports to the International Admissions Manager.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and process a high volume of international applications that have a high degree of complexity, from submission to acceptance, and deliver a high level of service that is tailored to a particular geographic region or markets.

  • Apply and ensure compliance with key legislation and University policies and procedures throughout the admissions process.

  • Assist in managing team workload with the International Admissions Manager and lead some continuous improvement initiatives by maintaining a good understanding of systems related to application processing and international admission requirements management.

  • Support the International Admissions Manager by proactively monitoring changes in market trends, analysing and making recommendations on entry requirements and embedding compliance and quality requirements into international admissions processes.

  • Support recruitment events as appropriate.

  • Be proactive with the relevant areas within Future Students and stakeholders within UQ to resolve complex issues within the international admissions space.

This is a Full-time,100% FTE, Continuing (Permanent) position, at HEW Level 6. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,099.39 - $94,512.08 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $103,076.28 - $110,579.13 per annum.  


About You

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive relevant industry and specialist experience in managing complex International Admissions processes, particularly specific to a geographic region or market.

  • Excellent communication and cross cultural skills to contribute to managing stakeholders and deliver a high level of customer service, with the ability to adapt and contribute to customising the level of service to different regions.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of efficiency in a high volume, high pressure and ever changing environment.

  • Sound knowledge of compliance and quality objectives in International Admissions, policies and procedures, with the ability to contribute to continuous process improvements.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to performance targets related to quality and compliance.

  • Agile in the face of operating with various technology relevant to International Admissions.
