Your new role
 
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to provide technical leadership, ensuring high availability and reliability of our centrally managed networks and services. This position will be responsible for the strategic planning, project management and delivery of innovative network solutions, driving efficiency and scalability across the University's IT infrastructure. You will be the subject matter expert for our team and oversee core network and Wi-Fi technologies, providing insights and guidance to optimise performance and security.
In this role you will:

  • Ensure high availability and performance of ICT networks and services through diagnosis, tuning, maintenance, and vendor liaison.
  • Lead strategic planning and implementation of service continuity measures for uninterrupted business operations.
  • Drive ongoing capacity improvements for networks to meet evolving University needs.
  • Protect integrity of ICT networks and services by managing access and implementing global monitoring.
  • Provide mentoring and support to junior team members.
Key Requirements:
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in Network Engineering.
  • Certification in Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), and/or other specialist qualifications (security, voice, wireless).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing and maintaining Cisco IOS-based LAN/WAN/Voice/WLAN Network Infrastructure and Network Services.
  • Experience supporting large-scale production network environments.
  • Management and maintenance of Cisco DNA Centre, familiarity with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco/Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall services and Cisco wireless LAN controllers.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of cloud technologies is highly advantageous.

you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role to be considered.

based at our Curtin Bentley campus
