About the Economics Department
The Department of Economics is one of the leading centres for economic research and education in Australia and in the Indo-Pacific region. Our students rank amongst the brightest in Australia, as measured by Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR). The Department houses outstanding researchers in applied and theoretical fields including economic growth, health, development, labour, gender, migration, public, natural resource and environment economics.

About the role
Reporting to the Head of School, you will make significant contributions to research, teaching, and service within the department. You will excel in developing and delivering high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising students' research projects, and engaging in administrative duties as required. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading collaborative research initiatives locally, nationally, and internationally, while also publishing in esteemed peer-reviewed journals to enhance the reputation of the School and the University.

Your role also entails fostering research within the School, supporting diversity and inclusion, and participating in governance and collegial life within the institution.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate a PhD in Economics with specialisation in Macroeconomics, a strong research track record, excellence in teaching, and the ability to positively contribute to team and university activities.
