About You


Working as part of the Student Experience area, the Senior Functional Analyst will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver the design and development of solutions that are aligned to meet the needs of the University.

The Senior Functional Analyst works both independently and in teams comprised of functional and technical staff, as well as contracted external consultants on a variety of tasks and initiatives. The Senior Functional Analyst will be required to report regularly on assigned tasks, to effectively engage and communicate with staff at all levels across the University.

The Senior Functional Analyst will become an expert in the functional domain(s) in which they operate and will provide consultative advice to stakeholders as required.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:

  • Extensive experience with multiple ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM, HRSD and custom applications. Able to lead a significantly complex piece of analysis work.
  • Demonstrated experience and understand of the student lifecycle particular about admission and pathways in higher education sector.
  • Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to establish effective working relationships with fellow IT colleagues, the business and other stakeholders.
  • Advanced consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
  • Strong knowledge of the SDLC and involvement across the entire project lifecycle
  • Experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies, and able to bring ‘fresh’ ideas to the project team and operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on accountability for complex pieces of work and work autonomously.
  • Flexible, able to adapt to change quickly and work with some ambiguity, yet still delivering quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrate understanding of ITIL Foundations, principles and its application.
