About This Opportunity 

In this role, the Senior Engagement Officer will contribute to the strategic communications, marketing, events and engagement initiatives for the EAIT Employability Team.

The role brings together all aspects of the team’s work and will drive the exposure and awareness of the team’s brand.


You will work in conjunction with the Events and Administration Officer, and report to the Industry Relationships Coordinator, EAIT Employability.

Key responsibilities will include: 

Engagement Programs and Events

  • Lead the EAIT Employability events strategy, in conjunction with the Industry Relationship Coordinator, to align with Faculty and team objectives.

  • Facilitate EAIT Employability’s involvement in key student engagement programs, including, but not limited to the annual events program and Industry Mentoring program.

  • Liaise with key stakeholders across the Faculty and UQ to achieve engagement priorities.

  • Work with the Industry Relationship Coordinator to establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, seeking opportunities for collaboration and engagement.

  • Contribute to the portfolio of strategic relationships with existing and new external clients, with a key focus on building employability related opportunities offered to students through the team.

  • Coordinate student ambassador involvement in annual events program

  • Represent the team at engagement events as needed, which may require attending events outside normal working hours.

Marketing and Communication

  • Write, edit and deliver engaging marketing materials and digital content initiatives that align with the Faculty and team’s strategic priorities and operational plans.

  • Lead the delivery of EAIT Employability’s marketing and communications strategy.

  • Lead website and digital presence, including the digital integration and promotional content of career-readiness programs, work integrated learning course requirements and event initiatives.

  • Coordinate all formal internal and external communications for the team.

Information Management

  • Record and collate data associated with events and engagement activities.

  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of engagement programs and events.

Systems and Processes

  • Contribute to the continual improvement of systems and processes of all aspects of the EAIT Student Employability Team’s remit.

This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to October 2025.

At HEW level 6, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,099.39 - $94,512.08, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $103,076.28 - $110,579.13 annually.  As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

About You  

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience or extensive experience in marketing and communications, events, business or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects and engagement activities in a fast-paced environment, including planning, administration, budgeting and risk management.

  • Ability to compile data, develop reports and infographics, draft documents and integrate information from a variety of sources accurately and timely.

  • Proactive team member with the ability to work collaboratively, to prioritise work requirements, work autonomously when appropriate, consult appropriately and respond to direction as required.

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with a strong client focus.

  • Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours if required.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Adobe suite. Strong preference for software and CRMs such as InDesign and Vision6.
