The Senior Coordinator, Major Bids is responsible for supporting and coordinating the development and submission of major proposals and bids for external funding opportunities including major competitive rounds, major projects and partnerships involving government or partner organisations that are considered strategically important or where the university is required to limit the number of bids submitted.

As a Senior Coordinator, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with research teams and initiate cross team collaboration to lead major bids identification, preparation and realisation of major bid opportunities. 
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key external major bids partners/key stakeholders in industry and funding bodies. 
  • Develop new strategies to identify and prepare for research major bid opportunities and initiatives to significantly grow research income. 
  • Work cooperatively with key internal and external partners to support Deakin’s research teams to sustain and increase opportunities to secure research income via selective and open tender opportunities. 
  • Regularly review feedback received against submissions and identify strategies to enhance future submissions where applicable. 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Experience in project management and engagement with proven ability to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate.
  • Experience working collaboratively to develop and implement new frameworks and practices within a complex environment.
  • Experience working within a large scale and complex organisation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of domestic and international major funding schemes would be advantageous
  • This position may require the incumbent to occasionally work outside business hours.
  • This position requires the incumbent to hold a current Working with Children Check
