Overview
We're looking for a creative and purposeful communications professional to join the ECU City team.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic and transformational university, as we enter an exciting new phase with ECU City under development in the heart of Perth.

ECU City is set to redefine higher education, bringing incredible opportunities for students, staff, and the community. As the centrepiece of the Perth City Deal, the new $853m campus will exemplify the university of the future. It will be home to creative thinkers, adaptive learners, and the leaders of tomorrow.

The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) will join ECU’s School of Business and Law, School of Arts and Humanities, School of Science, and more, in the CBD.

This is your chance to play your part in the launch of this unprecedented project, as we look towards our opening to students in 2026.

As Senior Communications Adviser, you will develop and deliver the internal communications strategy with a specific focus on change and transition communications. Working within the project team, the role will involve implementing the supporting internal communications and stakeholder engagement activities during this significant transformation period.

No two days will be the same.

You’ll be able bring your creative energy, offer fresh ideas, and work in a fast-paced project environment. Everything you do will make a difference to students, staff, and community, as we work collectively to bring our people along on the ECU City journey.

About you:

  • You’re a communications professional with a passion for major projects
  • You excel at building strong relationships with a diverse range of internal stakeholders
  • You’re a clever copy writer, with experience writing for multiple audiences and channels
  • You can manage many initiatives and deadlines
  • You’re exceptionally well organised
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or five years’ experience in strategic and/or internal communications

Ultimately, the idea of being part of something so transformational for Perth will excite you.

When you join ECU, you become part of a large, diverse and talented team with a shared purpose. Together, with an open mind and creative thinking, we strive to effect positive change in the world and create a learning environment that energises and inspires our students, our staff and our community.

If you believe in being bold, are passionate about driving positive change and have the skills and experience to succeed, we’d love to hear from you.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, fixed term position attracts remuneration of $100,512 pa to $112,622 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
