We are currently seeking the expertise of a Senior Career Educator to work within our Career Education team. This key role will support our current and prospective students in their career development, delivers career and employability research and information into curriculum, and leads age-appropriate career education outreach initiatives and activities for students and their influencers. This role is integral in supporting people to make strong career-decisions, to enhance their employability, to strengthen student graduates’ outcomes, and supporting people on their journey to have more fulfilling careers and lives.

What you’ll do

The Senior Career Educator is a key role within the Career Education Team (part of Support For Learning), and functions to provide support to current and prospective students in their career decision-making, career planning, and overall career education through counselling, career conversations, career development activities and teaching.

The Senior Career Educator will:

  • Provide a suite of best-practice career counselling and career education services to current and prospective students from diverse backgrounds to benefit students in their career decision-making, including but not limited to, career counselling, career education and career assessment through face-to-face and distance modes, and triage.
  • Develop and provide high quality career education/ training packages to inform and empower individuals and groups reflective of best practice teaching and learning pedagogical practice.
  • Design and deliver program activities and theory in accordance with professional standards, program documentation and evaluation requirements, maintaining currency of career development and industry knowledge to ensure education programs and advice is informed and appropriate.

What will help you succeed

  • A relevant degree qualification and eligibility for and/or registration as a Career Professional with the Career Industry Council of Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing career counselling and career education services including conducting triage, career development initiatives, career counselling, career education, career assessment and appropriate interventions to people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders, including internal and external stakeholders, to establish and maintain effective relationships, and to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team.

Salary: Total remuneration range of $112,314 to $124,193 pa (includes salary range of $94,900 to $104,937 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
