Strategic advancements are happening for both the South West and at ECU South West and the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) is leading the way. An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced administrative officer with a communications flair to oversee the preparation of communications and social media of the Office. This role means you’ll be part of a team where you work close to the action across a range of exciting new initiatives, whether at the centre of Ministerial launches or exciting Campus and Learning Hub activation events.

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) promotes and actively enhances ECU’s influential role in regional development. Through a broad range of external partnerships, we are developing a precinct approach to advancing ECU’s footprint and serving the Region’s stakeholders. This cutting-edge work is directly aligned with the new national reforms for the Higher Education Sector.   The key focus of the Office is to build the capacity and success of ECU South West, including ECU South West’s Bunbury Campus (WA’s largest regional campus) and a series of learning hubs throughout the South West. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) role covers all WA regions and is she also ECU’s Lead for Athena Swan and this adds an additional dimension to the inspirational work of this team.

The Position
The Senior Administrative Officer will work under the guidance of the Executive Officer to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) to provide administrative support to the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) to progress projects of significance for the South West and other regions. A significant component of the role includes preparing various communications including draft ministerial launch briefing notes, maintaining the ECU South West website, and social media channels to engage a wide range of external and internal audiences. You’ll also be central to the organisation of campus events and capturing stories and images for social media posts. This position acts as the Executive Officer when required.

The position will suit an individual who is self-motivated and thrives on working in a fast paced and complex work environment. We are ideally seeking the following experience, and particularly welcome applications from experienced ECU staff who are looking to relocate to the South West. A relocation allowance may be available for the right candidate.

Key Criteria
The successful applicant will have: 

 - Exceptional customer focussed approach including providing senior administrative support within a busy office environment 
 - Exceptional attention to detail for the purpose of reviewing, drafting, and co-ordinating correspondence, documents, minutes, agendas, records management, and events focused on key internal and external stakeholders
 - Experience working in a communications role with the ability to deliver communications across a range of channels both internal and external
 - Demonstrated high level organisational, problem solving and time management skills with the ability to prioritise numerous competing tasks with minimal supervision.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time ongoing position attracts remuneration of $78,854 to $87,624 plus 17% University superannuation contribution (plus relocation costs where applicable).
