OVERVIEW
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled professional to join the School of Education, providing specialised administrative support for the School. We are looking to recruit a Senior Administrative Officer to support a broad range of processes contributing to the day-to-day functioning of the School.

THE ROLE
The role will focus on creating and maintaining solutions to support a broad range of processes contributing to the daily functioning of the School. There will be a particular focus on providing support for administering the School’s human resources/staffing contracts, financial processes, project-based tasks, other general administrative work, SharePoint, executive diary management, and coordinating committee meetings including minute-taking.  When problems arise, you will be expected to generate solutions in consultation with academic staff, your leader, and senior colleagues and implement them successfully. The position operates in a changing environment and therefore requires agility to respond to such change.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
You will be a self-motivated, solutions-focused individual who thrives in a busy and complex environment and enjoys working collaboratively. You will have experience and expertise in a client-focused approach, be organised,  and can provide high-level administration including the coordination of complex processes whether in higher education or another industry. 

You will work in a supportive environment as a member of the School’s Operations Team, reporting to the Team Leader Operations. On a day-to-day basis you will work closely with academic and professional colleagues in the School. You will often interact with other schools, central university services and key external stakeholders. 

SELECTION CRITERIA
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Required

  • Advanced level skills in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products to create elegant data management solutions.
  • Confidence and self-direction in learning new and evolving technologies.
  • Attention to both precise detail and the bigger picture of data management requirements and the needs of the end user.
  • The ability to use initiative to identify problems, think creatively about their resolution and create solutions, knowing when to escalate problems to their manager for assistance.
  • Independence in working on directed goals and tasks and managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to work collaboratively in support of academic and professional colleagues and external stakeholders, including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Desirable


  • Experience in an extremely fast-paced environment in higher education or another industry.

This ongoing position attracts a full-time remuneration of $81,614 - $90,691pa plus a 17% University superannuation contribution.
