About the Role
Reporting to and working closely with the Director and Associate Director of Strategic Operations, the School Operations Manager supports Heads of School in preparing, implementing, and monitoring strategic and operational plans for the School and Institute.
You will foster effective relationships with academic and professional staff, as well as key personnel in the Faculty Senior Management team, ensuring alignment with Faculty and University objectives.
The role involves representing the School in operational matters with internal and external partners and stakeholders. Additionally, the School Operations Manager oversees the efficient delivery of support services and leads professional staff in providing excellent service to all stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate and contribute to the School's strategic planning processes, as required.
- Work closely with the Head of School in the development and implementation of the School's strategic initiatives.
- Design and implementation of the School's operational planning processes, monitor progress throughout the year, evaluate outcomes and make recommendations for change.
- Assist in the development of an integrated resources plan for the School, encompassing workforce planning, academic services, infrastructure, and responsible financial and asset management.
- Integrate and oversee the School's administrative functions, establish clear directions, common goals and open communication by fostering a work culture that supports the ongoing growth and development of the School and Institute.
- Oversee management and delivery of support services of the School.
Who We Are Looking For
You will bring a strong understanding of the higher education environment and its strategic direction, along with substantial experience in financial and operational management within a university setting.
You will also have:
- A relevant postgraduate qualification and management experience, or extensive management experience and proven management expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, including a proven capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated understanding of the higher education environment including its strategic direction.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and align operational plans and establish and implement procedures and initiatives to enable delivery of plans.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
