Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a School Administration Officer to join the School of Creative Practice. This position provides high quality administrative assistance across a broad range of duties that supports the academic work of the School of Creative Practice. 

The role supports the School as part of a three-person School Administration Support team, which includes the School Manager and School Executive Assistant. The role is typically the primary contact for the School of Creative Practice and works closely with the other School Administration Officers, School Managers, School Executive Assistants, Heads of School, academics, the Student Specialist Support teams and other Faculty teams to deliver exceptional outcomes and service to internal and external stakeholders. The School Administration Officer collaborates on and contributes to a range of activities within and across Schools.

About the School of Creative Practice 
The School brings together a range of creative disciplines, and consequently provides students with the opportunity to engage in transdisciplinary approaches to their learning and/or research activities – reflective of collaborative experiences in the real world.
The curriculum is structured around core units with additional units in the following study areas:
•    Animation
•    Film and Screen
•    Creative Writing
•    Dance
•    Acting
•    Drama
•    Technical Production
•    Music
•    Visual Arts

Remuneration 
The classification for this position is Higher Education Worker Level 5 (HEW5) with a salary of $50.79 to $57.29 per hour, inclusive of 25% casual hourly rate loading. 

The positions will be located at Kelvin Grove campus.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Education, training or relevant experience equivalent to completion of an associate diploma with at least two (2) years’ subsequent relevant experience in an administrative position, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training.
  • High level interpersonal skills with the ability to provide professional administrative support with proven ability to collaborate and communicate with a range of people at all levels both within QUT and external to QUT.
  • Demonstrated digital literacy skills including ability to effectively work with Microsoft suite of products as well as corporate systems and other information sources to extract and interpret data.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative to solve problems, manage priorities to meet deadlines, and work productively without close supervision to support a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong written communication skills including the ability to draft memoranda, meeting agendas and minutes, correspondence, submissions and emails
