Safety Support Administrator

  • Employment Type: Full time (35 hours per week)
  • Duration: Continuing
  • Remuneration: Level 5 $82,818 - $93,711 (depending on experience) + 17% super + leave loading
  • Location:  Kensington, NSW

Why Your Role Matters:

The Safety Support Administrator will play a key role in the provision of efficient and effective day to day systems and administrative support within the Safety Team, Division of Planning & Assurance.

The role reports to the Director Safety and will undertake safety and administration support functions to assist, as directed, the Manager Safety Partnerships and Injury Management, Manager Safety Systems, and Manager Safer Communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage a broad range of administration practices and reporting systems to support the successful implementation of the UNSW Safety Roadmap.
  • Plan, develop and maintain administrative procedures and processes, providing advice in relation to guidelines and activities.
  • Develop effective communications with key stakeholders within the Central Safety Team to support the process of design, development, and implementation of initiatives.
  • Assist with the implementation of policies, guidelines, and procedures, to ensure the effective operation of Safety activities.
  • Act as the primary contact for key internal and external stakeholders, maintaining effective channels of communication, analysing requests and correspondence to prioritise queries.
  • Review and monitor finance administration requests, including but not limited to, purchasing, travel, credit card reconciliation, expense reimbursements, payment requests and billing processes.
  • Provide secretarial support to steering committees and other meetings as required.
  • Proactively undertake relevant reporting and utilise Safety data to support recommendations and provide advice.
  • Monitor, track and report on the completion of safety training and coordinate training courses.
  • Manage and maintain multiple safety database systems as required.
  • Undertake safety reporting for safety governance reporting.
  • Assist other departments within the Division of Planning and Assurance as directed.

Who You Are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (desirable) with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Safety Qualifications (desirable, or willingness to undertake)
  • Proven time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
  • Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to plan, organise and co-ordinate projects and tasks.
  • Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to understand and communicate financial information and monitor budgets.
