About This Opportunity 

We are seeking a motivated, organised, reliable Restaurant Supervisor to coordinate and deliver exceptional hospitality services within Patina at Alumni Court. A new high-end restaurant bar and events caterer in the heart of The UQ St Lucia Campus. We are specifically seeking staff with experience in supervising other hospitality staff, including Restaurant, Events and Barista staff.

Patina at Alumni Court is a modern and contemporary restaurant offering relaxed premium dining with an emphasis on paddock to plate philosophy, Patina will offer a unique shared dining experience overlooking the Alumni Gardens. Facilities will also include a private dining room and the kitchen will cater to events both on and offsite.

Staff are required to fulfil approx. 20 to 38 hours, including some weekends and evenings.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to: 

  • Supervision and hands on service in the Restaurant and event catering.

  • Presence and hands on leadership during all service periods.

  • Training staff in menu knowledge.

  • Management of the electronic restaurant diary.

  • Handling guest complaints and maintaining high service standards at all times.

  • High level of maintenance of restaurant equipment and furniture.

  • Stock control and ordering restaurant supplies.

  • Liaison with Event Coordinators and Kitchen team regarding service.

  • Locking of premises at end of the shift.

  • POS system updates and programming.

  • Responsibility for staff and patron care.

  • To ensure responsible service of alcohol.

  • Assisting with the day-to-day activities of Patina at Alumni Court.

  • Other duties as reasonably expected by the Food and Beverage.

This is a Full-time, fixed-term position up to December 2025. At Food & Beverage Grade 4 Load Rate, the full-time equivalent base salary will be $61,722.81 plus super of up to 17%. The total package including superannuation will be $72,274.19.


About You

  • Two years’ supervisory/management experience in a premium dining, high-volume establishment.

  • Current Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA).

  • Proven supervisory experience in a high-profile restaurant.

  • Strong Food and Wine knowledge.

  • Competence in programming POS systems.

  • Well-development communication and negotiation skills.

  • Highly developed organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure.

  • Sound understanding of workplace, health and safety issues.

  • 5-star hotel/premium fine dining restaurant experience will be highly regarded.

  • Demonstrated team player and well-developed interpersonal skills.

  • High standard of personal grooming and hygiene.

  • Commitment to excellence of product and customer service.
