About This Opportunity 

The Research Manager/Program Manager works closely with Chief Investigator/s and their research teams to identify, develop, implement and improve outcomes of the CFAR and NACE Living Systematic Review program. This includes developing a framework for living systematic reviews in allergy, leading the establishment and continual updating of one or more living systematic reviews in food allergy, and contributing content expertise to related translation projects, and supporting the living systematic review programs of CFAR and the NACE.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Assist project/program leaders in identifying technical and specialist capabilities necessary for research project outcomes and support recruitment efforts.

  • Provide specialized scientific/research technical expertise as relevant to research outcomes.

  • Work closely with Chief Investigators and research teams to develop and implement programs/projects at various stages of the research life-cycle.

  • Project management, including leading internal project planning, coordinating resources, and defining project scope and objectives aligned with stakeholders and technical feasibility.

  • Contribute to research quality assurance and improvement activities in collaboration with senior research staff and stakeholders.

  • Manage financial resources, budgetary reporting processes, and personnel associated with research projects and consulting activities.

This is a part-time (60%), fixed-term position for up to 12 months. At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,975.08 to $122,176.31, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $127,500.84 - $142,946.29 annually. As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

About You  

  • Postgraduate qualifications in natural or medical sciences, population health, statistics, or relevant education/training, accompanied by extensive research management experience, preferably in tertiary education or research sectors. Alternatively, an undergraduate degree with extensive research management experience and other relevant education/training.

  • Significant experience in allergy research in Australia, including well-established professional contacts and networks, and collaboration with external stakeholders.

  • Expertise in conducting systematic reviews, including knowledge of living systematic review processes.

  • Advanced understanding of research processes, the Australian health system, and the ability to critically appraise and synthesize academic literature.

  • Demonstrated capacity to develop, manage, and coordinate multidisciplinary research projects.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex content clearly and concisely, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively engage with diverse audiences.
