Research Manager (National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs)

  • Employment Type: Full Time, Fixed Term contract until 30th June 2026
  • Remuneration: $118K - $133K p.a. (+17% super and leave loading)
  • Location: Office is in Randwick, Sydney with some flexibility to WFH.

The Organisation

The National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs (NCCRED ) is a national research centre that seeks to embed research in clinical practice. It aims to support clinicians to detect and respond to new drug health problems by building clinical research capacity and rapidly translating findings into clinical practice. The Centre supports a national Prompt Response Network (PRN) which allows for rapid, flexible, and collaborative responses to emerging substances that may cause prevalent, persistent, and harmful health and community impacts. The PRN has been co-designed with the community to ensure a high level of community impact and relevance.

The Centre is made up of a consortium of the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC), acting as lead agency, St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA), National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) – Curtin University of Technology, and the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA) – Flinders University. 

Why this role matters  

A Research Partnerships and Collaborations Manager will manage the operations of the National Centre for Clinical Research (NCCRED) at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC), in the Faculty of Medicine. They will actively develop and implement practices and procedures to support the research activities of NCCRED and their national and international research partnerships. Key to this will be facilitating a streamlined program of partnerships across the Centre’s activities and research.

Who you are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience working in collaborative projects with people who use drugs, frontline workers, partners and/or collaborators from diverse backgrounds and lived experience.
  • High level project management experience from inception through to evaluation
  • Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced. Proven ability to influence senior management and stakeholders as appropriate to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Sound influencing and consultation skills and proven ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
