Base Salary between $104,633 to $113,992 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Post-Awards team within the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, plays a pivotal role in innovating academic processes, facilitating smooth post-award administration. Supporting groundbreaking initiatives, they foster collaboration among forward-thinking professionals dedicated to advancing research excellence.
As a Research Grants & Administration Officer, you will provide end-to-end management (i.e. drafting and negotiation) and administration of agreements for funding of research and/or professional services contracts, grants, tenders and fellowships.
Reporting to the Manager of Research Contracts and Administration, your key responsibilities will be to:
support the end-to-end management of agreements for research grants, tenders, and fellowships
negotiate agreements with external parties, assist with signing agreements and deal with account opening
take responsibility for University-wide administrative processes and procedures
ensure the completion of assigned contracts, grants, tenders and fellowships in a timely manner
build trusting relationships within a complex network of cross-University environments
collaborate with members of Research Operations to systematically review administrative procedures.

experience in drafting and negotiating contracts and dealing with related processes
experience in research and grant funding administration, ideally within the higher education sector
experience in a high-volume environment with strict deadlines
well-developed customer service skills and ability to work independently under broad direction
excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to apply attention to detail
knowledge and understanding of national and international research funding opportunities, processes, and policies.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
