About the position
The School of Allied Health, Human Services and Sport offers a range of general and specialist undergraduate and postgraduate courses that are rigorous and attuned to meeting the needs of students in ensuring their readiness to work in changing environments. The School comprises three Departments and 10 disciplines across La Trobe’s multi campus operations and has an outstanding reputation for research excellence, research translation and for building strong relationships with industry partners.
Located within the Discipline of Speech Pathology and working closely with the Centre for Research Excellence in Aphasia Recovery and Rehabilitation, this position will contribute to the development of research capacity and capability in access and inclusion of people living with communication disability. The position will report to Associate Professor Robyn O’Halloran.
The performance expectations of this position include:
- Exceeding the average annual research income and publications benchmarks for a full time Level B appointment in speech pathology.
- Contributing to and leading the submission of competitive research grants, in any HERDC categories.
- Establishing research partnerships and collaborations.
- Participating in the supervision of research higher degree students.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- Completion of a PhD or equivalent qualifications or research experience.
- A record of publications, conference papers and/or reports, or professional or technical contributions which provide evidence of strong research potential.
- Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing.
- High level organisational skills: the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, initiate and follow-up actions, all with minimal or no supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
