Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
School of Population and Global Health
- Opportunity for a highly motivated Postdoctoral researcher to join a leading academic public health School and work in collaboration with researchers and a not-for-profit organisation to evaluate an innovate family and domestic violence recovery service and undertake related sub-studies
- Level B, full-time on a 3-year fixed term basis
- Base salary range: $108,509 – $128,404 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation

The School of Population & Global Health (SPGH) at The University of Western Australia is a research-intensive academic organisation giving material expression of the belief that excellence in research underpins excellence in education and community partnerships. About the opportunity
The Post-doctoral Research Fellow will work in collaboration with SPGH academics and a Perth-based not-for-profit organisation to lead and manage the evaluation of their new service which supports the recovery of women and children from experiences of family and domestic violence, lead related sub-studies, co-ordinate dissemination of research findings and develop applications for future funding.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:
- PhD in public health, psychology, sociology or related field.
- Understanding of family and domestic violence and knowledge of its drivers and impact
- Knowledge of the human services sector including services for family and domestic violence and recovery
- Knowledge of, or experience in, human service or health program evaluation
- Experience in undertaking quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.
- Experience compiling ethics applications
- Experience with statistical software packages such as SAS, Stata or SPSS and qualitative research programs such as NVivo
- Ability and experience in managing a program of research
- Ability and experience in communicating scientific results through conference and other presentations; and peer-reviewed journal articles and other reports.
- High level organisational and time management skills and experience in working successfully independently and as a member of a research team
