About the Team

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Educational Partnerships and Quality (PVC EPQ) provides leadership to deliver a business-focussed and data-driven approach to quality program and product development for the University including our third-party providers. This portfolio contributes to Western Sydney University’s success in the higher education environment by enhancing the University’s suite of quality educational products and partnerships.

This work supports a whole-of-university approach to planning and managing product offerings, program quality and educational compliance across our campus network, our extensive range of programs with professional accreditation and pathway offerings.

About the Role

The Office of Educational Partnerships and Quality (EPQ) is seeking an experienced and expert leader to join the team as Director, Education Quality and Policy. As Director, Education Quality and Policy you will provide high-level leadership and management expertise in the strategic development and implementation of systematic academic quality assurance, improvement and educational compliance policies and processes across the University and provide strategic advice to the University’s senior executive and managers.

You will draw on your specialist Higher Education compliance knowledge and expertise to develop reports and submissions on behalf of the PVC EPQ, DVC (Education) and the University, and lead a small team of experts who support school and thematic reviews, education quality compliance and other strategic quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to the duties of the position together with extensive and significant relevant professional experience
  • Expert knowledge of higher education legislative and regulatory frameworks and experience in the implementation of quality assurance and improvement processes and procedures
  • High-level strategic analysis, planning and quality management skills, including the ability to develop effective and integrated strategies to ensure consistent and coherent application of policy and practice across diverse and multi-faceted organisational units and activities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively design, develop and implement complex processes and procedures that support the organisational direction and align with external requirements
  • Expertise in interpreting complex issues appropriately and writing synthesised commentary and advice
  • Experience in effective staff management.
