About School of Medicine
The School of Medicine has celebrated its 10th year anniversary and has established a strong profile in excellence in teaching and research. Our affiliation with the Local Health District highlights a dual aim of attracting current and future medical leaders to the region, and in turn improving the provision of health care to the Western Sydney community. Our staff work across hospitals, clinical schools and research institutes at locations across Western Sydney including Liverpool, Campbelltown and Blacktown and across New South Wales at Lismore and Bathurst where our rural program is based, and students likewise are found across Western Sydney and across New South Wales.

About the Role

The Medicine Unit has a growing research team and has recently been successful in obtaining funding for a number of research studies including ToBOGM: Randomised Controlled Trial of the Treatment of BOoking Gestational diabetes Mellitus and Pasifika Preventing Diabetes Program (PPDP).

The Research Nurse will coordinate and assist with data collection and data handling activities in the community. The data collection process is complex with a large number of participants, which is why the incumbent must possess exceptional organisational and communication skills to efficiently and effectively support the flow and completion of data collection.

The position will be based at the Macarthur Clinical School, however the Research Nurse will be required to work from and/or attend meetings across Greater Western/South Eastern Sydney. The position holder will also be the central contact for multiple church and community organisations/groups in Greater Western Sydney and South Eastern Sydney involved in data collection.

This is a full-time or part-time position with the hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant, fixed term until 31 December 2023.

Remuneration Package: Higher Education Worker Level 5 $91,209 to $103,148 p.a., (comprising salary $77,073 to $87,161 p.a., 17% Superannuation and Leave Loading).

Part-time appointments will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.
