About the Role
The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Strategy, Government and Alliances is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled candidate for the position of Curator – Collection and Cultural Programme. Working collaboratively with the Director, Western Sydney Creative, and in-house teams, the Curator – Collections and Cultural Programme will contribute to and shape the development of the Western Sydney Creative ambitious cultural programme and build the reputation of the University as an innovative cross-disciplinary contemporary cultural organisation, drawing on work generated by Western Sydney’s creative community. This will include programming, commissioning, co-production, cultural infrastructure support and the development of local, national, and international partnerships.
The Curator - Collections and Cultural Programme will be responsible for the day-to-day care, documentation, digitisation, development, storage, and display of the University’s art collection of approx. 1,400 pieces across all our sites. The role will facilitate research across curatorial, conservation and scientific projects; maintain and improve object storage and access for the collection according to international best practice; and interpret the collection through exhibition, publication, events, and other means.
Skills and Experiences
The successful candidate must have demonstrated demonstrated knowledge of current contemporary interdisciplinary arts and curatorial practices and the broader cultural sector both nationally and internationally, ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and excellent planning, organisational and budget management skills and demonstrated ability to prepare tenders and secure grant funding and other support for cultural projects and programs.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 7 $108,206 to $116,756 p.a. (comprising Salary of $91,435 to $98,660 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
