The School of Social Sciences, Western Sydney University, invites expressions of interest from qualified social workers who are interested in casual academic work to participate in the external supervision of Social Work students on placement.

The positions of casual social work supervisors exist to meet the requirements in accordance with the social work degree to provide social work students on placement supervision by a qualified social worker. The opportunity to have supervision, exploring social work themes relating theories to practice, anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory practice and undertaking reflective practice is a key aspect of these roles.

Applicants are required to have a minimum of five years’ experience working in the field and must be prepared to travel to various locations across Sydney. External supervision can be conducted in groups or individually with students on campus and the position may also be required to undertake mid-placement academic liaison visits for other students not under their own direct external supervision.

Please note this casual opportunity is a 2-3 day per week commitment and most suitable for applicants currently working part-time.

Remuneration: Attractive casual salary rates from $65.21 to $109.91 per hour.
