About NICM Health Research Institute
The NICM Institute provides leadership and support for strategically directed research into integrative medicine, promotes the translation of evidence into clinical practice and develops policy to benefit the health of all Australians. NICM is an international leader in integrative medicine research, especially traditional Chinese medicine. The Institute’s programs encompass all aspects of the research agenda in the field of integrative medicine, from pure basic research in the laboratory; to clinical trials tailored to assessing the efficacy of medicines already in use; to the translation of research evidence into clinical practice and community use.
NICM works with national and international partners to deliver world class research and commercial services, and provides testing services for integrative medicines, pharmaceuticals and veterinary products.

About the Opportunity
Do you have a flair for strategic marketing and communications? Western’s NICM Health Research Institute is looking for a part-time Impact, Marketing and Communications Manager to elevate our national and international presence in the field of integrative medicine research and policy development.

As the Impact, Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be the driving force and have overall responsibility in implementing NICM’s marketing and communications strategies. In this role you will be pivotal in developing and managing the Institute’s media presence, social media channels, and ensuring our promotional materials and newsletters are of the highest quality. You will also develop and implement the Institute’s promotion and marketing strategies for its commercial testing and manufacturing facilities.

This a part-time 0.6 FTE (21 hours per week), fixed-term position for 2 years based at Westmead Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.

About You
You will be client focused, a good time manager, excellent problem solver with high-level communications skills and experience in a research/University setting. You will have the ability to identify and implement solutions and think innovatively. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. The successful candidate will have experience supervising communications support staff, directing priorities and overseeing tasks to completion.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 8 $78,444 to $87,081 p.a. (comprising Salary of $66,286 to $73,585 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
