About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists within the Office of Student Experience and Marketing for an agile and creative individual to join our Social Media and Digital Operations teams as a Social Media & Digital Web Content Officer. If you’re looking for some diversity in your day-to-day and to make an impact on two key departments supporting the student experience, then this is the role for you!
By collaborating with the Social Media Coordinator, who oversees the Universitys social media presence across various platforms, this role will contribute to the development and execution of engaging content that aligns with the University’s strategy. The role actively participates in projects and activities designed to foster online community engagement and brand awareness, providing administrative and ad-hoc support to ensure social media efforts run smoothly and efficiently.
When tasked with digital operations deliverables, the successful applicant will proactively collaborate with owners and internal clients to maintain the accuracy and currency of existing web pages. The position will also contribute to the creation of new pages, adhering to established brand guidelines and best practices. Importantly, they will ensure all published content aligns with the Universitys online presence and user experience.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 31 December 2024. The position will be primarily based at Western’s Hawkesbury Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required. Hybrid work arrangements are available, allowing the successful candidate to work from home for up to two days a week. Please review the position description for further information.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a candidate with a relevant degree, post-graduate qualifications and/or extensive professional experience. You will have demonstrated professional experience in digital and social media marketing, with a focus on organic social media. Including, but not limited to, skills such as social media reporting, creation of engaging and relevant social content, social channel moderation, scheduling and posting.
You will also have an understanding and application of one or more of the following: Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Squiz Matrix, Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target. Experience with HTML, CSS and quality assurance testing is favourable. You will also have a comprehensive understanding and practical application of digital marketing activities across web channels, web analytics, SEO strategies, WC3 standards compliance, user journey mapping, and the ability to align business objectives with website design.
You will also have strong attention to detail, exceptional organisational and time-management kills, strong stakeholder management, analysis, problem-solving and risk identification. You should be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, meet deadlines and complete duties effectively.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 5 $94,265 to $106,603 p.a. (comprising Salary of $79,655 to $90,081 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
