  • Base salary range: $106,775 - $116,709 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About the team

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) provides strategic leadership and oversight of the management of the University’s central research infrastructure. The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) is supported by teams in the Office of Research to support the development and implementation of UWA’s research strategy in alignment with the institutional values.

About the opportunity

You will project manage and coordinate the implementation of solutions to recommendations from an audit of UWA’s Research Infrastructure policies and practices with a focus on lifecycle renewal across the institution.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues and staff across the University to assist in developing policies and frameworks to achieve sustainable operation of UWA research infrastructure.

About you 

You will be a motivated individual with the ability to work across multiple projects offering solutions to diverse problems, often with tight deadlines. You will be an excellent communicator, engaging with multiple stakeholder groups including academic staff, University Executives, industry partners and funders, and enjoy working in a team environment.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Extensive experience in project management including experience in stakeholder engagement and process development
  • Substantial relevant experience in compliance auditing and governance, including the implementation of new governance models across established teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including working papers, audit queries and reports) together with sound interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines
  • Experience in financial management is desirable
  • Knowledge of the higher education sector, specifically the research environment and the role of research infrastructure in a research-intensive university is desirable
