This position sits within the Enterprise-wide Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) which supports the planning, development and implementation of projects that enables UNSW to achieve its goals as a leader in teaching and research.

About the role
You’ll play an essential role in furthering the delivery of our Records Management Transformation Project (RMT), leading a collaborative project team working to roll out fit-for- purpose practices to elevate compliance and efficiency across record keeping management.

As Project Manager you will lead the delivery of the operational and strategic goals of the RMT project, from business case development to delivery, you'll leverage your practised expertise to ensure cross-project buy-in and an effective collaborative delivery process across the project.

The role reports to the Project Sponsor to deliver an effective, sustainable model for University records management.

Specific responsibilities for this role include:

  • Lead the planning and implementation of the project and manage the delivery of operational and strategic goals.
  • Ensure the project deliverables are aligned with the agreed scope and initiate change procedures when require.
  • Provide strategic direction to the project team and key stakeholders, monitoring and reporting on the progress of projects; and identify problems and propose possible solutions.
  • Oversee and finalise effective communications with key stakeholders, providing influential input with stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
  • Manage project dependencies, risks and issues.
  • Manage the project financials and provide project and financial reports and forecasts.
  • Set up and coordinate the required Working Groups to ensure the project deliverables are correctly aligned with the program goals and objectives.
  • Lead adherence to the agreed EPMO governance framework for successful project design and implementation.

About you: We’re looking for strong project management experience confident in taking a project from business case to implementation, higher education sector experience is beneficial. Your will bring the following skills and experience:

  • An in-depth understanding of the project life cycle, including experience in different methodology and strategic development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
  • Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.
