Project Manager

  • Employment Type: Full-time (35 hour week) (part-time will be considered)
  • Duration: 12 month fixed term contract (with potential for up to 5 years extension)
  • Remuneration: $118,883 - $133,948 + 17% Super and leave loading
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid Flexible Working) with travel to Tasmania required at times
  • Full Australian working rights required for the duration of the contract

Why Your Role Matters:

As a Project Manager, you will work with the Chief Investigators to co-ordinate the effective and efficient delivery of this large translational research project within the agreed timeframe, budget, quality, and resources. The position will oversee and manage the project cycles and all their components, including developing project planning documentation, identifying and building appropriate project teams and managing all stakeholder engagement and quality assurance.

This is a highly collaborative role which will involve working with UNSW, University of Tasmania, Mindgardens Neuroscience Network, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and Department of Health Tasmania.

The role reports to a Senior Research Fellow, Discipline of Psychiatry and Mental Health at UNSW and will work closely with the Executive Director of Mindgardens Neuroscience Network and Professor at Tasmanian Centre for Mental Health Service Innovation . The position has no direct reports.

Who You Are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (eg Health Sciences, Nursing or Psychology) with relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proven project management experience, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
  • Experience working with health services – experience with community mental health services is particularly desirable.
  • High level of experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office suite, electronic medical records and project management programs (e.g., Trello/Jira/Asana).
  • Research experience including using quantitative and qualitative analysis programs (e.g., R/SPSS/NVIVO).
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
