About the Faculty of Science and Engineering
Curtin’s Faculty of Science and Engineering has five schools that deliver a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and higher degree by research (HDR) courses. The five Schools are the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, School of Earth and Planetary Sciences, School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences, School of Molecular and Life Sciences, and the WA School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering.
The Faculty’s academic and professional staff support learning of more than 6,500 students annually across almost all of Curtin’s campuses, including Perth, Kalgoorlie, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, Mauritius, as well as the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). The Faculty has a thriving research culture and hosts a number of University Research Centres and Institutes, including the Centre for Crop Disease and Management, the Curtin Institute of Radio Astronomy, and the recently launched ARC Training Centre for Healing Country.
Your new role The Project Coordinator will lead a critical health and safety project aimed at enhancing processes for purchasing and managing hazardous materials across the Faculty of Science and Engineering. This role will be responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of the project under the guidance of the Project Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement improved processes for purchasing and managing hazardous materials within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of all hazardous equipment requiring registration, including laser equipment and any other equipment where radiation registration is necessary.
- Ensure the project is effectively initiated, and quality control, scope, and schedules are monitored and adhered to.
- Maintain a clear focus on ensuring compliance with Curtin policies and procedures relevant to hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project teams to gather requirements, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present project reports, updates, and documentation to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines effectively.
- Identify and address potential issues or risks that may impact project success.
