Your new role

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the development, and coordination towards implementation of the academic career pathway and development project under the guidance of the Project Lead. The Project Coordinator may operate alone or within a team and ensures the project is effectively initiated and that quality control, scope and schedules are monitored and adhered to.

The successful candidate will possess strong project management skills, exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills, enabling effective consultation and collaboration with diverse stakeholders. The candidate should also demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, respecting diversity, providing leadership and support, and contributing to collective goals.

It is an exciting opportunity as the successful incumbent will also have the opportunity to support the Associate Provost and Provost in implementing this important academic career pathway and development project.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate activities related to assigned projects, using appropriate project management methodology and systems, to achieve the defined project outcome.
  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to identify project deliverables, define objectives, and establish clear outcomes.
  • Manage project work plans, timelines, implementation, and evaluation methods.
  • Develop new policies and procedures in consultation with the Associate Provost and Provost, ensuring stakeholder input.
  • Develop relevant business case and project initiation documentation (PID) as required, including timelines, implementation and evaluation methods and communication strategies.
  • Coordinate project resources, monitor costs, and provide updates to the Project Lead.
  • Write and prepare project reports and related documentation.
  • Initiate appropriate action as required to resolve any issues affecting project delivery.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and convene focus groups plan and coordinate project events.
  • Monitor and report on progress and performance against project schedules and performance indicators.

  • Demonstrated high level benchmarking, management, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to coordinate and implement project plans to achieve desired outcomes within resourcing constraints.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to consult and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people and with cross cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated high level written communication skills with the ability to construct clear and concise project reports.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to accuracy and detail within deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team, including respecting difference, leading, and supporting others, accepting direction, and working to group goals.
