- Salary HEW 6 ($89,386 - $96,756) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
- Based at the Melbourne CBD campus.
About the Role
The Australian Internet Observatory is a four-year project (2024-2028) to develop National Research Infrastructure for collecting and analysing social data and digital platforms. AIO is an initiative of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making + Society (ADM+S) in collaboration with researchers and research centres, university partners and organisations across Australia and internationally and is supported by the Australian Research Data Commons which is funded by the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy.
The Project and Communications Officer role is a professional staff appointment based in the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University and working closely with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society. The Project and Communications Officer will coordinate and drive operational, administrative and communication activities of the project under the direction of the AIO Director and AIO Program Lead in collaboration with the project team, partners and key stakeholders.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
- A relevant degree and experience in providing administrative, project and communications support.
- Proven ability to develop and contribute to the ongoing development of outreach programs, events and knowledge sharing strategies.
- Demonstrated appreciation of, or affinity with research and education programs and activities; an understanding of data analysis and research infrastructure preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills to competently manage workload, changing priorities and peak periods.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills consistent with dealing with a diverse range of people in an organisation and a commitment to quality service.
