Why Your Role Matters:

The Programs Officer plays a key role within the UNSW Business School through the coordination of the design, delivery and support of academic programs undergoing review or redevelopment, including the Bachelor and the Master of Commerce and other programs as required. The Programs Officer will provide project coordination and planning to meet the required milestones resulting in the successful completion of program redevelopment projects, improved program quality, and an enhanced student experience across the Academic Programs portfolio.


Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide integrated program-level and administrative support for the Bachelor and the Master of Commerce programs and other Academic Programs, supporting the planning, development, implementation, review and documentation of the programs.
  • Establish processes and approaches to progress projects by keeping stakeholders informed and engaged, and proactively and efficiently absorbing new information, taking on board learnings from other program redevelopment projects. This includes but is not limited to aspects of workload planning, staffing, and liaising with the Education Design and Development team (EDD), Academic Quality Assurance team, and the Career Accelerator and Student Experience (CASE) team.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and units, to achieve project goals; this includes gathering pedagogical and logistical requirements to develop sustainable processes, documentation, and solutions.
  • Connect and align design and delivery outcomes to the operational timelines and activities of the program and broader Faculty priorities.
  • Proactively check in and monitor in advance of delivery points, identifying potential delays, anticipating potential impacts, and aim to mitigate risks.
  • Contribute to the creation of operational transition plans and detailed documentation of all required processes, interdependencies, and key timelines in the project to achieve ‘business as usual’ state.

Skills and experience required (but not limited to):

  • A relevant degree with a depth of subsequent relevant experience to consolidate and extend the theories and principles learned; or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Proven skills in problem-solving and improving processes and procedures, with motivation to apply this to a range of areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively preparing project documentation, processes and reports, and advanced competency in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive professional relationships with staff at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent organisation, time management and project coordination skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, managing multiple tasks, and meeting competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, as well as taking initiative and working independently.
