The Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering, UNSW, has an opportunity for a Program Manager (Culture and Development). Based within the Societal Impact & Translation team you will take the lead on the design and development of several programs and processes in the areas of career development, including the development of tailored solutions for individuals and cohorts of staff as appropriate, and the promotion of an inclusive, performance-based culture in line with the Faculty’s Strategic plans and goals, particularly as aligned to the UNSW Engineering Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy (2023-2027).

This role reports to the Deputy Dean (Societal Impact and Translation) and has no direct report.

  • Salary, Level 8 - $118,883 to $133,948 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full time
  • Fixed-term contract – 36 months
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
  • Hybrid working

Skills & Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience and/or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Extensive experience leading projects, processes, and systems, especially in relation to Culture & Career Development initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead end to end project management, relationship management and delivery, including the capability to manage programs focused on specific outcomes that engage staff across diverse groups, working both autonomously and collaboratively across multi-function teams.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the proven ability to multiple projects and programs simultaneously.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, HR systems and databases. Excellent attention to detail, including time management and organisational skills with a proven ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and to work under pressure to deliver outcomes.
  • An interest in and passion for culture & development initiatives and be a positive contributor to organisational culture and change.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
