The Opportunity
Are you ready to lead change for a sustainable future? Climateworks Centre is searching for a visionary Program Impact Manager for our Net Zero Industrial Precincts initiative. Working alongside our team of experts and extensive networks, you will be a critical part of the team that develops the future of heavy industry to ensure Australia decarbonises in line with the Paris Agreement and its nationally determined contribution. Climateworks Centre is an expert, independent adviser, acting as a bridge between research and action to accelerate the transition to net zero emissions for Australia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. It also benefits from strong relationships with an international network of affiliated organisations that support effective policies, financing, and action for greenhouse gas emissions reductions.Co-founded in 2009 by The Myer Foundation and Monash University, Climateworks operates within the Monash Sustainable Development Institute.

Your Mission:
- Drive Systemic Change: Lead dynamic, multi-year programs to achieve significant emissions reductions and foster a net-zero future. Develop thought leadership in place-based transition decarbonisation at scale through cross-region learnings and partnership with other global authorities
- Strategise for Impact: Translate Climateworks’ vision into actionable strategies, pioneering best practices for industry decarbonisation across Australia and South East Asia
- Collaborate for Success: Work with a diverse network of stakeholders from business, government, and academia to deliver tangible program results. Our impact stories include the Industry Energy Transitions Initiative (ETI) and the Australia–Indonesia Energy Transition Dialogues, both co-convened by Climateworks Centre
- Influence Policy and Innovation: Use your expertise to turn research into policy, financing solutions and capacity-building recommendations
Your Pathway to Impact:
- Autonomous Leadership: Reporting to the System Lead – Industry, you will collaborate and manage with a high degree of autonomy
- Team Oversight: Lead a dynamic team of between 3 and 7 staff members
- Financial Stewardship: Exercise financial delegation and manage budgets in alignment with organisational objectives

- Lead with Vision: Deliver high-impact programs that embody the ethos of Climateworks
- Empower Teams: Recruit and guide a dedicated team of researchers, analysts and subject matter experts, leveraging your leadership to inspire day-to-day project excellence
- Forge Partnerships: Manage collaborations with external partners and internal teams to co-design and execute complex projects.
- Communicate for Change: Prepare influential publications and presentations, engaging a broad audience to share in Climateworks’ groundbreaking findings
