Education-focused roles are a specialised category of academic engagement reserved for talented educators with a passion for, and demonstrated excellence in, pedagogical practice and design. A Professor of Strategy/Negotiations (Education Focused) is expected to make significant contributions to developing teaching and learning practice, design, and evaluation within their School and will be on a trajectory towards leadership in educational design and delivery.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • develop, teach and coordinate units of study (courses) in Strategy and Negotiations to culturally diverse cohorts of undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA students

  • develop a strong profile with external stakeholders, particularly in relation to pedagogical activities in the areas of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship

  • be involved in multidisciplinary collaborations with Genesis, the Sydney Knowledge Hub and Sydney Incubate, as well as external stakeholders

  • contribute to the educational and administrative duties of the Discipline and School

Professor of Strategy and Negotiation (Education Focused) dedicates the majority of their contribution to teaching and teaching-related activities (up to 70%), with a minimum of 20% research and 10% governance, service, and engagement. Additionally, you will mentor junior academics, providing advice on teaching methodologies, education research approaches, publications, and career advancement.

About you

We are looking for a Professorial level Educator in Strategy/Negotiations who possess:

  • a completed PhD or higher degree in Strategy, Innovation or Entrepreneurship or a related area

  • demonstrated experience in successfully delivering high-quality teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate or MBA level, including unit of study coordination, delivery of lectures, and assessment of student learning activities

  • capacity to work in a contemporary university context, including innovation in teaching and delivering content in face-to-face and online environments to stimulate and engage students

  • a developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders to assist in curriculum development and transformation and developing ‘work-ready’ graduates

  • the ability to work successfully in a team and commit to a collegial approach

Term and remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing position. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
