We are searching for a distinguished scholar of either international or national acclaim to become an integral part of the thriving discipline of Classics and Archaeology within the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies. You will hold a pivotal position in driving forward the research, scholarship, and teaching of specialised content within our esteemed department. About You

We are seeking to appoint a full Professor in Archaeology with a specialization in Near Eastern or East Mediterranean archaeology, focusing on field archaeology within the ancient Near East and Eastern Mediterranean regions spanning from the Bronze Age to the conclusion of the Achaemenid Persian Period.

You will have:

  • Possession of a completed PhD in the Archaeology of the ancient Near East or Eastern Mediterranean civilizations.
  • An internationally recognized publication record characterized by distinction and innovation.
  • Demonstrated success in securing nationally and/or internationally competitive research grants.
