About the opportunity

The Professional Experience Coordinator assists stakeholders from the Faculty of Education in the planning and coordination of work integrated learning in course offerings at SCU. This position organises the professional experience placement process, offering a range of administrative support, including cultivating relationships with placement sites and problem-solving placement conflicts. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Negotiate placement opportunities with host facilities, ensuring alignment with demand and capacity. Coordinate the scheduling of placements including the preparation and distribution of placement details to students, placement supervisors and the relevant host facility staff.
  • Act as the primary contact for students and placement providers, addressing inquiries and facilitating issue resolution.
  • Provide administrative support to academic staff, including document compilation and distribution related to placements.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Professional Experience, Unit Assessors, Course Coordinators and Student Administration Services staff to ensure maintenance of academic and placement requirements.

About you

You will have a wealth of tertiary administrative expertise coupled with exceptional interpersonal abilities, allowing you to connect seamlessly with diverse individuals and groups. More specifically, you will possess:

  • A relevant qualification and minimum two years’ experience in administrative roles or equivalent. Having a grasp of student enrolments and compliance will be looked upon favourably.
  • Proficiency in various software programs, including Microsoft Office, CRM, SONIA and other web-based systems.
  • Demonstrated ability in interpreting and implementing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including adept negotiation and conflict resolution.

Salary and benefits

We have three (3) full-time, fixed-term (2 years) positions available at either our Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast or Lismore campuses.

Based on a HEW 5 salary rate, the base salary ranges from $76,892- $85,445 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $99,970 per annum.
