UOM 7 – $106,432 – $115,211 p.a. plus 17% super

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Procurement Insights Analyst to uncover hidden value through data analysis and storytelling. You'll drive strategic decision-making, optimize processes, and champion key strategic initiatives whilst building trust and reputation for Procurement Services as a key partner in the University's success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Uncovering hidden value in university spending through analysis, identify savings opportunities, and track benefits.
  • Developing dashboards and reports to guide strategic procurement decisions, optimize workflows, and automate tasks for efficiency.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to track performance metrics, ensure compliance, and mitigate risks through data-driven insights.


Who we are looking for
We're searching for a data storyteller with exceptional communication skills! You'll translate complex data into clear insights using compelling narratives, and confidently present these findings to influence key decisions. Proactive initiative and the ability to engage stakeholders are also essential.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated data analytical skills conducting detailed analysis, developing valuable insights for both commercial and operational strategies.
  • Proficiency in business systems and reporting/analytics tools, with advanced skills in Excel and Power BI. Familiarity with SQL, Alteryx, and Python is also preferable.
  • An understanding of subscription services AWS and Azure is also preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in database management in order to analyse and interpret large data sets from multiple platforms and sources

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.

Procurement Services is an integral part of the Chief Financial Officer Group and provides strategic advice for construction projects and facility management, manages and supports the procuring of goods and services on behalf of the University, and delivers operational oversight for third-party expenditure and suppliers.
