About the opportunity

As the Peer Programs Coordinator, you will work closely with the Peer Programs Lead to coordinate and deliver the peer programs in the Student Life cluster, which includes recruitment, training, rostering, and day to day supervision of a team of employed students. You will utilise your project delivery and implementation skills and sound judgement to maintain high quality day to day program delivery for the Student Life area.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work within a dynamic team, reporting to the Peer Programs Lead

  • coordinate and deliver key projects included in the peer program, focusing on current students

  • manage and mentor a team of casual peer programs staff

  • actively support program governance and reporting procedures to monitor project delivery

  • develop and maintain systems and processes that facilitate the management of high-volume student enquiries and communications by peer program staff

  • develop and maintain constructive working relationships with key stakeholders and collaborators

  • provide advice, data, and insights to the Peer Programs Lead to support decision making, reporting and communications.

About you

  • tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and relevant work experience in a related area

  • demonstrated experience working with peer leaders/advisors/students in a culturally diverse environment

  • previous experience working in a student facing role

  • demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships within and across teams with a diverse range of stakeholders

  • excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills

  • excellent administrative skills, coupled with a general understanding of program and training documentation

  • demonstrated proficiency in language/s in addition to English is highly desirable.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
