- Base Salary, HEO 6, $95,860 - $103,341 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Peer Mentoring Program Officer is responsible for the coordination, management and continual enhancement of the academic peer mentoring programs within the Sydney Law School . The ‘Legal Minds Mentoring’ initiative is a program which partners early-degree students with later-year mentors and is aimed at improving attrition by supporting academic skills development.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- undertake the implementation, coordination, and supervision of administration of the Law academic peer mentoring program, in collaboration with Law School leadership team.
- Recruit, train and provide supervision of facilitators, and build, design, and coordinate maintenance of a registration database of facilitators
- identify and initiate innovative business solutions
- oversee ongoing quality assurance of the mentoring programs via continual review and improvement of processes and innovations.
- lead and implement a systematic process of peer review of mentors for the purpose of assuring the quality of facilitation
About you
- bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or relevant experience and training
- previous experience in a student facing role is preferred
- ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
- demonstrated understanding of project management fundamentals and experience in project management
- excellent administrative skills with the demonstrated ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands
- excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of matters.
