Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Manager, HiQ Service Points & Future Students to join HiQ, Student Services and Wellbeing, Administrative Division.

The Manager, HiQ Services Points & Future Students has responsibility for the strategic leadership of future student services, including orientation programs, and HiQ service points on both campuses. Working closely with the Student Engagement management team this role manages the university-wide conversion strategy for the domestic cohort. The Manager HiQ Services Points & Future Students has strategic oversight to integrate enquiry services and the onboarding student journey from the offer stage, early engagement, orientation and transition, including collaborating with Marketing and Communications to ensure alignment of first year communications with communications throughout the student life cycle. The position will lead a team and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a strategy and service model for the continuous improvement of prospective student enquiries through HiQ Service Points and the onboarding journey of orientation and transition.

Student Engagement comprises of HiQ Contact Centre, Future Student & HiQ Service Point, Service Improvement & Engagement, and QUT Sport. HiQ is the university’s contact point for members of the public, staff, prospective and current student enquiries and support services. Services to students and staff include general information, IT support, Library, and student administration. Engagement with future students and their orientation to the QUT student experience is a core focus of Student Engagement. The Engagement team is responsible for delivering co-curricular programs that further build QUT’s sense of community and support students to develop their professional identity, networks, and employability. QUT sport has strategic and operational oversight of sport activities and programs at QUT..

What you need to succeed

1. Qualifications, experience, and training equivalent to a postgraduate degree with extensive relevant experience in developing, implementing and evaluating conversion and orientation strategies, policies and programs; OR an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of the commencing student experience, and proven expertise in the coordination and delivery of orientation and transition programs, and first year communication.
3. Experience in leading and managing a service delivery area and implementing complex projects to an agreed plan, with extensive stakeholder engagement, risk management and analysis of benefits.
4. Extensive experience in communication planning, including integrated marketing communication and including an understanding of student development and working with students as partners.
5. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and mentor a team and manage conflicting deadlines.
6. Demonstrated experience with CRMs and IT systems to extract and analyse data to improve the service delivery to students.
