As the Ma & Morley Scholarship Program Officer, you will be part of a close-knit team who support a transformational student experience. You will accomplish this by fostering genuine relationships with and between Scholars throughout their degree programs and broader leadership journey.

In this role you will:

  • Provide administrative support and assist with the efficient, timely, and effective coordination and execution of key elements throughout the three stages of the Scholarship program.
  • Organise engaging program events, and Scholar and Ambassador experiences and activities.
  • Support and coordinate the recruitment processes for the 30 new Scholars annually.
  • Produce communications to Scholars and key University and external stakeholders via Slack, email, social media, in person and over the phone.
  • Manage and update website content, as well as digital and non-digital assets.
  • Manage data and reporting in the CRM system.

This 18-month fixed term position is a parental leave cover, is full time, and will be located at the Newcastle City Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).


What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $77,858 to $90,316 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

About the Unit

The Ma & Morley Scholarship Program (the Program) was created to inspire, educate and cultivate the next generation of globally aware and socially conscious Australian leaders. The objectives of the Program and further information can be found on https://www.newcastle.edu.au/scholarships/ma-and-morley-scholarship-program .

The Program is in its seventh year of operation and offers 30 Scholarships annually to students who want to change the world. Scholars receive generous financial assistance; a values-based enrichment and leadership program; a cultural immersion experience (international or domestic); and lifelong bonds and friendships.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritise, and make sound decisions within own sphere of responsibility when it comes to delivering event and program facilitation.
  • Sound administrative and project management skills, including competency and attention to detail in preparing and reviewing reports, creating and working with spreadsheets and ability to take responsibility for delivering to plan and on time.
