*Excellent position to work in environmental data science and decision making, with a unique opportunity to join a stimulating research and teaching environment.
The successful candidate will be appointed to a four-year ‘fixed-term teaching (20% Teaching Load) and research’ in collaboration with the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences; alternatively, a three-year ‘research only’ position is available.
To be successful you will need (please refer to full criteria for each level)
Level A
- PhD in data science, mathematical modelling, applied mathematical ecology, or an equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated research ability that supports applied research in environmental decision making related to A/Prof Cassey’s ARC Industry Laureate Fellowship ‘Combatting Wildlife Crime and Preventing Environmental Harm’, particularly in conservation science and wildlife management
- Record of research achievements as evidenced by publications and conference presentations
- Ability to teach effectively using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student engagement
Level B
- PhD in data science, mathematical modelling, applied mathematical ecology, or an equivalent qualification
- Strong track record of research achievements as evidenced by publications and conference presentations and demonstrated ability to win research funding
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and the delivery of high-quality student-centered teaching using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student engagement
*This position (Level A or B) requires a valid National Police Check.
