The School of Creative Arts prepares students for global engagement as practitioners, educators, creators, advocates and patrons of the Arts. What you’ll do:


Based at our Toowoomba campus, you will be responsible for delivering instruction in Art Theory, with a specific emphasis on fostering creative ideas, conducting artwork analysis, and introducing students to curatorial practice. Your proficiency in two-dimensional arts practice, including drawing and painting, will be essential for effectively teaching these concepts. 


Additionally, having knowledge of and/or skills in other Visual Arts studio areas would be advantageous, as it will allow you to provide a well-rounded educational experience for our students.


Furthermore, you will place a crucial role in delivering core courses across the Bachelor of Visual Art program, extending into disciplines such as Theatre, Music, Design and Interactive Technologies, Television and Radio Production, Film and Screen Production, as well as Creative Arts and Community Wellbeing.


Your expertise and versatility will be instrumental in shaping the educational journey of our students and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration within the Arts Community.


What will help you succeed:


We are seeking a creative academic with strong personal and professional ethos of integrity and innovation who enjoys working as part of a collaborative and supportive team. 


You will also meet the following requirements:   

  • Doctoral or Master qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing,
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering engaged and reflective approaches to teaching,
  • broad knowledge of arts communication, creative thinking, cultural responsibilities, and arts business,
  • experience in delivering studio-based workshops, and
  • Emerging track record in traditional and/or non-traditional research outcomes in a relevant creative field.
