  • Base salary range: Level B: $108,509 - $128,404 / Level C: $132,381- $152,279 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UWA is one of three Departments in the School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing.

About the Department

The Department is well regarded for high quality teaching and research. In addition to a broad based undergraduate program in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, the Department contributes to the teaching of Applied Statistics for the Data Science Major and the Master of Data Science, in cooperation with the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering. Located within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, the Centre for Applied Statistics provides mathematical and statistical advice to external clients and to other disciplines within the University, promotes national and international collaboration, and supports the discipline of Statistics within the University and the wider  community.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, conduct high quality and high impact research in Statistics and related areas. As a passionate advocate for teaching excellence the successful candidate will develop and deliver undergraduate and masters curricula that focus on Statistics and Data Science, as well as contributing to the Department, School, and University community by contributing to service activities.

You will display enthusiasm for scholarship, capacity for academic leadership, willingness to engage with industry and other Departments and Schools within the university, and a strong desire to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
